Where can I get more money selling my vintage designer handbags in New York?

I live in New York, and I'm looking to sell some of my vintage designer handbags (Gucci, Fendi, etc through the 1970s … all in very good condition). I know there lots of shops specializing in used clothing consignment designer high end accessories and buy them, but I want to know who in particular tend the seller to pay the most, as I do not want to be fooled. I heard that eBay is usually the best choice when it comes to selling things like that, but I did not have the patience (plus, I've never used ebay before and I know that if you have a lot of good notes it is almost impossible to obtain good, high bids) does anyone experience selling high-end consignment shops? What would you recommend?
